A CHANGE IN ME—
ᴮᴬᶜᴷᴳᴿᴼᵁᴺᴰ: raised more like a boy under her inventor father's watchful eye, belle never quite fit in amongst the other townspeople despite her best attempts. it wasn't as if she hadn't tried; after all, her father always encouraged her to play nice with the likes of claudette, laurette, and paulette, who were perhaps the silliest girls in town. something has always felt ... off. belle keeps her heart guarded despite her dreams of finding love and adventure, protecting herself against rejection time and time again. she wants to run from typical domestic life, rejecting the submissive role most wives are expected to take with their husbands. upon meeting the beast and being trapped in his castle, belle begins to unravel a years-old story about generational trauma, long-forgotten magic, and her unexpected connection with the prince.
ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ: belle is resilient, resourceful, and headstrong. she always tries to do what she thinks is best and occasionally can be self-righteous. partly because her family is looked upon strangely in town, partly because she doesn't agree with the conservative views of her small town, belle isolates herself out of a desire to protect herself, especially her heart. as encouraged by her father, she tries to see the best in everyone and is still open enough to believe that people can be good.
